    Permanent General Companies, Inc., a leading non-standard auto insurance provider, is seeking qualified applicants for a Staff Desk Appraiser. This position supports the Claims Organization's goal of delivering quality service, internally and externally, leaving people with a positive seamless claims experience. This is an experienced appraiser who can work on minor to moderately complex physical damage claims that do not require on-site inspections or face-to-face contact. This person performs with a high degree of competency and continues to develop a master of skills and insurance knowledge required of an experienced appraiser.

    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Estimating loss and damages for all parties with an insurable interest
    • File management of claim inventory
    • Investigation of cause and origin of claims
    • Policy Determination and Analysis
    • Negotiation/Settlement of claims
    • Manage vendor relationship


    Experience with an Electronic Estimating System (i.e. CCC, ADP, Mitchell), and Microsoft Office required (Word, Windows and Excel).


    Position requires the ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) as well as the calculation of averages and percentages.


    Prior body shop experience is a plus!


    This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.
