    SUMMARY

    We are currently seeking a Benefits Specialist in our corporate office in Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in benefits, and thrive in a fast-paced, high volume environment where organizational skills are key. 

    Responsibilities

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful candidate should exemplify stellar communication skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a “get ‘er done” attitude. Basically, we’re looking for a rock star who can do it all while building deep professional relationships.  Responsibilities include:

    • Process employee benefits, enrollments, terminations, coverage changes, beneficiary updates
    • Administer company provided leave plans (i.e. FMLA, disability, military, workers comp, etc). 
    • Draft written benefit program processes/procedures, communication materials for new hire orientation and open enrollment
    • Conduct new hire orientation and open enrollment meetings
    • Reconcile vendor invoices
    • Administer tuition and insurance certification course reimbursements
    • Provide employee support and troubleshoot or problem-solve complex enrollment/benefit issues in a timely manner by thoroughly researching, investigating and correcting the issue(s) and reporting the findings back to the associate
    • Provide analytical and other professional level support to the benefits function including conducting and analyzing survey results to assist in comparing benefit plans
    • Maintain up-to-date benefit information on corporate intranet
    • Maintain employee benefit files to ensure compliance with all record retention laws
    • Actively participate in company’s wellness committee including administering enrollment and termination of plan participants and distribution and tracking of wellness awards

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or other related area; equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
    • 3+ years’ experience in human resources, preferably in benefits or other administrative support role

     

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

    Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    Ability to communicate both in writing and verbally to associates at all levels of the organization
    Well above-average organizational skills

    • Ability to collect, compile and organize facts, figures and/or other information for analysis is needed, as well as the ability to use and interpret information
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, time management and organization skills
    • General knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, Section 125, workers’ compensation, Medicare, COBRA, Social Security and DOL requirements a plus.
