Reporting to the Manager, Recoveries, the primary responsibilities of the Subrogation Supervisor include overseeing the daily responsibilities of the Nashville Subrogation staff to ensure that the subrogation function is carried out in accordance with company standards and is in compliance with applicable state and regulatory guidelines. Essential job responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate with appropriate personnel to identify all subrogation recovery related opportunities.
  • Ensure recovery identification processes are in place to ensure that recovery information is forwarded to the subrogation unit in a timely manner and to the appropriate subrogation personnel.
  • Monitor System diaries to ensure that all subrogation referrals are entered and maintained within the subrogation software systems and are promptly concluded.
  • Instruct subrogation staff on correct procedures for receipt and application of subrogation recovery funds.
  • Assist Information Systems department with the ongoing development and maintenance of Subrogation software systems. • Ensure that subrogation unit is in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulatory guidelines.
  • Approve all subrogation compromises within established authority levels. • Perform all personnel actions including hiring, performance reviews and training associates to develop skills, increase job knowledge and achieve stated performance objectives.
  • Gather and report on information pertaining to unit productivity, quality and timeliness.


  • Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Insurance specific training is a plus.
  • Requires a minimum of three years of insurance recovery (subrogation) experience with a minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with UCC, Fair Debt Collection Act and Arbitration Forums required.
  • Must also have the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, with claims personnel, insureds/claimants, attorneys, vendors, etc.
  • The ability to use and interpret information which requires refining and improving existing methods of recoveries is also needed.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) including basic statistics, • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Windows and Excel).
