    Responsibilities

    This position will handle moderate to highly complex auto physical damage claims with a solid understanding of the automobile repair processes, damage estimates and claims handling processes and procedures. This position will have involvement and oversight of the initial inspection process, the supplement process and rental management process. This position will also be responsible for managing and negotiating charges arising out of the processing of auto physical damage claims.

    • Reviews damage estimates and negotiates rates with repair shops; utilizes the electronic integrated claim system to complete and document actions throughout the life of the file or assignment
    • Reviews insurance auto auctions reports for vehicles with release issues and working with claim adjusters to resolve the release issues
    • Manages individual claim inventory and works toward meeting cycle time goals for closing assignments or files
    • Conducts review of claims or assignments received to identify prior actions taken and determine next steps
    • Negotiates repair prices and techniques with repair facilities and customers, which includes the use of aftermarket parts, salvage parts, repair versus replacement, and betterment
    • Provides onsite material damage expertise and mentoring for adjusters
    • Act as a mentor and provides a transfer of knowledge with regards to material damage claims
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • High School Diploma / GED
    • 5 years experience related to claim handling, vehicle repair processes, rental oversight and vehicle salvage processes
    • Prior auto appraisal, auto body shop or auto service technician experience required

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

    • Microsoft Office skills; ability to use Excel to read, create and manipulate reports
    • Effective communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal)
    • Understanding of collision repair processes
    • Ability to read and understand collision repair estimates
    • Time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
