Responsibilities

Utilize new analysis tools and processes to enhance/improve the Product Management role as it relates to rate/rule revisions, filings, pre/post product implementation to achieve profitability in all states.  Make rate and rule filings on the expected target dates to maintain state profitability and expected volume levels.  Implement continued process improvement for efficiency and accuracy around all aspects of the rate revision process.
 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Organize filings, programming and delivery of rate and rule changes to the market.  Develops statistical and other materials/exhibits required in rate and rule revisions/filings. 
  • Work with Product Management and Pricing to ensure that rates filed are reasonable and adequate and that rates and rules are in compliance with the state specific requirements of the Department of Insurance. 
  • Implement rates, rules and table relativities for new product launches as well as, individual state rate/factor changes thorough out the year.  Coordinate changes of relativities with internal/external business partners. 
  • Contribute to process improvement.  Recommend and Implement continued process improvement.  Utilize software tools to gain measurable efficiencies around the revision process.
  • Assist in coordinating all rate/rule revision related projects with the appropriate IT partners.  Assist in tracking the status of the project and communicating to the appropriate personnel including but not limited to Product, Underwriting, Customer Service, and Marketing etc.
  • Ensure accuracy of filings completed within the department.  Audit rate changes for compliance and satisfactory implementation of projects to insure accuracy.   Ensure MAR compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of demonstrated proficiency in a product or process oriented role.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Data warehouse and competitor analysis tools.  Overall computer proficiency required.
  • Ability to recognize trends, associations and/or cause-effect relationships in data and utilize that information in suggesting plan to follow
  • Ability to research, use and interpret information which requires refining and improving existing methods of analysis and/or developing new ideas
  • Understands fundamental rate-making concepts/terminology and has received training on company rate-making methodologies. Has ability to freely and openly discuss and provide simplified examples of rate-making   
  • Ability to address internal and external client issues effectively through various Medias of communications
  • Efficient in answering e-mails and phone calls in a timely manner; ensures up-coming assigned tasks are completed in timely manner or in advance if conflicts are up coming.

           

Education Requirements
 

Bachelor’s degree in business related field (i.e. Marketing, Finance, Insurance etc) or equivalent experience required.
